We went to Chiangmai Zoo after our big breakfast in Fern Forest Cafe. I will feature this forest cafe in my next post. The timeline isn’t really important as usually I don’t want to post two similar topics after the other. So here you go! as I said we enjoyed our BIG breakfast before we came, I’m not sure how is the food in zoo so would better to have your breakfast or lunch first before you came. If you have ever been to Singapore zoo, please don’t expect it will be something similar. There lots of slope and not an easy walk from one spot to another. However you can choose to rent a Golf cart, it cost 350 Baht/H and the next hour is 300 Baht/H. You also need to buy tickets if you wish to go to the panda dome as well! It cost 100 Baht. So every show needs money!
Take a map at the ticket booth, the map will show you the quickest route from one spot to another. There are also locker, wheel chair provided. The zoo opens from 08:00 -17:00, so don’t go there too late as there so much to see and of course more to walk!
Anyways, let’s get more in depth to the zoo. First we took a dok dok from the cafe to the zoo, it cost around 200 bhat for 2 person, so it’s not too expensive. You can buy the tickets at the ticket booth in the entrance and it cost 150 Bhat (adult) if you choose without visiting the aquarium. If you do want to go for both, then there’s a package, I don’t remember the exact amount but cost around 500 bhat up, and believe should be more. As we have been the Singapore zoo not so long time ago, so we decide just to visit the animals. The weather is not really good on that day, it’s cloudy and almost have a heavy rain! I can see the very dark clouds just above us! So we almost need to move so quickly without seeing any show as I need to take pictures at the outdoor before it starts to rain.
In The Zoo
First we visited the flamingo! They were so cute and elegant!
Then we went to the section of african animal to visit ms. giraffe, they were so excited as you can feed them, they always look so hungry and their eye lashes were so….. Long! Also they love Selfie with you!
Our next spot was to see crowned crane, it’s just next to Giraffes. Actually they were in the same location.
There also White Lion, elephant of course, leopard etc. I think I don’t have to say too much but just keep posting the photos! ^-^
A very nice view while you passed by zone by zone, it shall capture in your camera! Don’t miss!
In Nakhonping Bird Park
This is Javan Rusa, you can find lots in this area, there’s one larger standing here, see if you could find her too!
There are lots to see not only animals but reptiles, such as tortoise and Banteng. They seems like having a briefing in the morning!
The Green Lguana
View from top of the Old City Chiangmai
As mentioned we have to take a long walk and basically the zoo is in the mountain, thus you can get a great view from there once you walk almost at the top.
One of the Ring-tailed Lemnur which hardly took a shot as they always moved so fast. She is looking at the camera!
Lastly the rain came! we haven’t finish yet but chose to leave. We found a little cutie pie before we leave. It is next to Flamingo – Paca.
As it was still a bit early, we planned to visit the secret forest temple which is only 30 mins approx. from the zoo – Secret Jungle Temple Wat Pha Lat I will share those photos and the story in my next post. It’s worth to go if you are already in the chiangmai zoo.
Anyways, hope you enjoy the above photos! I have spent so much time to capture the beauty of them. Enjoy!
