Those who don’t believe in Magic will never find it – Alice in Wonderland
and I do, so I found the magic in here – My afternoon Tea in Wonderland!
During my 2 weeks business trip in London last month, I don’t have any chance to go for afternoon tea nor going out for site seeing in the weekdays. So I planned my bucket list for weekend before I came to London.
Firstly, I need to give a big credit to my colleague / best friend who suggested me to visit this amazing place for afternoon Tea in TAJ 51 suites – located in Westminster London. As a big fans of Alice, it is a MUST to go ! Though the price per person aren’t cheap (it cost 40 pounds/ person) but I made the right choice! You will understand later when you see more photos below!
The location is easy to look for and it took us approximately 15 mins from the nearest station – St. Jame’s Park or you can also choose to walk from Victoria station but it is a bit far away. Taj 51, unlike the 5 star hotel but a wider choice for luxury suites and residence. Imagine you can enjoy your afternoon tea in such a gorgeous place, it worth more than you could as for.
We made a reservation in advance and this is a MUST instead of being walk in. The table was decorated beautifully with all the Alice elements you could find in the story for example white roses, The hat of Mad Hatter and cards on the table. I thought I was being invited by Mad Hatter to join the lovely afternoon tea! (This is always my dream but it does come true!)
The afternoon tea started with a welcome drink – champaign and followed with a menu but appeared more like a story book. There were more than 10 choices of tea that you could choose which include ginger lemon, Turkish apple, peppermint etc. It also served with a luxury teacup and pot.
The food were presented nicely on a 3 tier cake stand which inspired from the story, ‘Queen of Hearts’ Mango Tarts, ‘Drink Me’ strawberry potion, ‘Caterpillar’s Mushroom’ Raspberry Marshmallows, White Chocolate Mousse Teacups and Pocket Watch macaroons. Accompanying finger sandwiches include Alice English Cucumber and Cream Cheese on Beetroot Bread, Fish Footman Tuna Mayonnaise on White Bread and Lory Cornish Yarg and Tomato with Redcurrant Jelly. Also we were lucky to have an extra mini cake for FREE! However we were so full thus decided to pack this back to hotel for our dessert! Overall the food not only presented nicely but also yum !
If you are also Alice big fans like me, this is where you definitely need to go. Just make sure to make a reservation through the site before you head to.
