I can’t believe the previous post that I wrote was already a month ago!! LOL . I did posted this passage in my Facebook page but haven’t update it in here. Sorry guys! so here you are, today I would like to introduce the ‘MUST EAT’ in Okinawa – AGU PORK!
There’s always a few MUST EAT in different places while you travel. And… you definitely will follow what other bloggers / friends advice. Thus I would like to advice you the most famous food in Okinawa -Agu pork! As mentioned from other passage said it was originally from China! (What a surprise!) I’m from Hong Kong but never have a chance to taste this in China. Just a bit background of the Agu pork, people said the cholesterol compared to normal pork was 1/4 only and high protein as well!
My friend and I went there during noon after visited in the valley of Gangala cafe. This cozy restaurant – TOSEN was located in NANJO, (SOUTH of Okinawa). The interior was a bit Muji feel. A few wooden tables and chairs, I would highly recommend to pick the seat next to the window side as there’s sunlight come through the window. So you can of course like us take some lovely shots!
The menu have 5 different choices – all about pork of course but different parts that include: 1/ Pork leg 2/ Pork Steak x 2different 3/ Stir fried pork 4/ Pork loin Steak . The price started from 1000-1800 Yen and the set comes with Rice and soup. Also you can enjoy a salad bar with an extra 600 Yen (+Tax).
I ordered the Stir-fried Okinawa pork with Ginger Meal, the meat was so juicy and tender. We also added an extra Salad on top.
Last but not least, we ordered the black sugar yogurt dessert. It presented with a lovely ceramic cup and a Okinawa biscuit and strawberry on top.
Just a friendly reminder the closing time is a bit early till 17:00! So make sure you won’t come too late! More info. of the restaurant below:
