Hiya! Haven’t update for more than 1 month!!! LOL as I’ve been more concentrate to update my facebook page rather than the blog in here! However no worries, I still want to keep this blog as it focus on different audience. Time is limit, so I need to get a balance and see how I can make both work better and keep updating this by weekly basis.
Anyways, I still got lots to update and nice places, hotels, cafes and restaurants can’t wait to share for those who follow my page! Summer has arrived and it’s time to plan your trip to OKINAWA – ISHIGAKI!!! make a trip to meet the ocean and of course the super yummy food they have. Do you have a plan this summer?
Tell you a secret! I already bought a ticket with my friend this coming SEP for our next ISHIGAKI trip again! Can’t wait for it! So let me show you one of the restaurant that I visited last year – ISHIGAKIYA with my husband.
My husband and I went to this restaurant straight away when we got our car from the airport as it is located quite close to the airport which took us only 20 minutes! I have not experienced any Ishigaki beef previously until this time. Lucky it didn’t disappoint me and really enjoy it! 🙂 There was a parking lot just outside the restaurant with a few parking space. Since we didn’t make any reservation before we came and lucky enough there were seat for us! 🙂 I didn’t realise it was a very touristy place till I arrived and saw lots of tourist.
We need to take off our shoes before we get into the restaurant. So do remember to wear socks if you plan to come! We were invited to seat at the mid of the restaurant. The exterior of the restaurant was full of the Okinawa atmosphere and so as the interior with wooden walls and pillars. There was a column and the table was built around it with a step down. Hence we were allowed to put our foot but no keen when we seated. This definitely would be beneficial for us especially we were not used to seat like Japanese.
If you came with more than 4 person, you can also request to seat in a more privacy area next to the window! however do mentioned in the reservation!
The Food
There wasn’t a lot of choice during lunch but a few set lunch in the menu only. Price start from 5200 – 16200 yen. We picked the more economy one which include sirloin steak, tenderloin, a few different types of beef organs, shrimp, veggies, rice, seaweed soup and dessert. The tenderloin was the best as it melted immediately when I put in my mouth. Also the salad with umibudo sea grapes was my favourite!! and bitter gourd with veggies were so fresh and yummy! Umibudo sea grapes and bitter gourd are the most famous MUST EAT in Okinawa apart form Ishigaki beef.
I would highly recommend not to grill the beef too long otherwise it would resulted too dry and it’s gonna waste!! Also recommend to make an appointment before you go! The next post will continue to recommend other nice foodie places in Ishigaki Island, stay tuned!!
