Cacao Market Ishigaki Okinawa

It’s Halloween tomorrow so suddenly I would like to jump to another place – Ishigaki Island in Okinawa which I have stopped posting a while ago but actually I haven’t finish writing it yet. (It often seems to have a long way to go for each place). Because Halloween is coming! So I guess it would be great to post something related which is chocolate!! Probably you have prepared lots for kids – trick or treat tomorrow! 🙂

If you have read my previous posts of Ishigaki Island (if not just click to the side bar), though it is a small island but lots of exciting things to do and eat! There are a few dessert places which I highly suggest to go after dinner or a place to chill. Unlike normal dessert store, it looks more like a magical chocolate factory to me! and interior looks like a scenery in Harry Potter!

We just randomly walked around and found this lovely place! A bit background of the store, it originally came from New York and they do have branches in Tokyo and Kyoto. Since 2004, Marie Belle – who is the founder plant her own cacao in farm and developed the brand – cacao market.

The exterior doesn’t really looks spectacular but the in store looks like a magical  chocolate factory. There are 2 sections in the store, a chocolate gift store and order counter at front and the inside is a place where you can enjoy your dessert.

At the centre, there are different kinds of chocolate which you can pick your favour. The most popular ones are: chocolate ball, fruit dips, NY caramel and cacao bar. Once you decided, you can pick the boxes / paper bags on the side of the machine and slowly press the button of your decided quantity! If it is plan to be a gift, you can also pay more for the alphabet boxes! How lovely this is! You can also pick more than one favour!

Besides, if you are not a fans of sweet then suggest you to pick the fruit dip which have slightly chocolate on the end of the fruit! On the side of the store they also offer various kinds of chocolate with different lovely packing! Sure you can pick your favourite one as souvenir.

The way to the dessert area

If you decided to stay to enjoy the dessert, there is a little room decorated with lots of books at the end of the store. There aren’t many tables but only a few. So it might happen to be full if you decided to come in the peak hour.

We decided to stay and ordered a cake set cost 1080 yen which included coffee and Tiramisu. Also we ordered chocolate rose tea cost 1620 yen (bit expensive compare to the set) but it is worth!  It was quite surprise the tea aren’t too sweet but just enough! and the cake was soft enough. The room though was a bit little but imagine like we were sitting in a magical bookstore with vintage decoration, enjoying our coffee and cake in such a magical chocolate store! how lovely this was!
