BEST Restaurant for Solo Dining in Bangkok – The Dock Seafood Bar

BEST RESTAURANT FOR SOLO DINING IN BANGKOK The Dock Seafood Bar

>

Have been quite a while not having a new post. Anyways after a busy week,  would like to share some great food of my previous Bangkok trip in June. As I arrived before my husband because of my free redeem ticket of Asia miles!  So my first dinner was alone. I planned to have my dinner at the Dock located in Siam paragon super market – Gourmet market.  It is actually not a restaurant but a seafood bar. Thus it is a good idea if you have no partner to enjoy the dinner but yourself. Although it is only a bar however they do provide the freshness oysters and lobsters. Their oysters import from France, Tasmania and Japan. So you are like tasting the oysters around the world in this little bar!

The Food

I ordered the oyster set and come with a little glass of champagne also a lobster pasta.  The lobster was so fresh as they were kept in tank and still alive before they picked and cooked! Price was reasonable and with only 12 seats around the bar table. So if you plan to enjoy the seafood with a group of friends then it might not be a good idea to go but a great location if you are enjoy with 2 or alone.

LAEMGATE – All you can EAT SEAFOOD

All you can eat seafood in Bangkok Laemgate

trazy.com

That’s one of the restaurant I visited in my past Bangkok trip. Laemgate is on my check list which I must go! It attracts me as it is ALL YOU CAN EAT for SEAFOOD!!

Laemgate have 2 branches in Bangkok, one in Phaholyothin11 and the other in Ari 4. How to go? The Ari branch is very close to BTS Ari Station exit 3, it takes you about 10 mins walk from the station OR if you decided to go after your plan to Chatuchak Market, then I would suggest you to go to Phaholyothin11 by Duk Duk. It takes approximately 15 mins  Phaholyothin11 and is  situated in between Ari station and Saphan Khwai Station.

We went to Ari 4 branch and the restaurant is REALLY REALLY hard to see. We have passed by several times in the same ari just walking back and forth!! We for sure we didn’t go to the wrong Soi (street) and the GPS did showed that we already there! As it was situated inside the gate and what you can see is the view below when you pass by. Lamgate was hidden at the dead end of the road. So that’s explain the reason why we passed by so many times!

There was a piano at the front door with the royal blue paint on wall, also some old books on shelf  which have the european looks & feel. The waitress was so nice and allow us to get into the restaurant much earlier than the booking time because of the heavy rain that night. Which is much appreciated!

Things to Do in Chiangmai – Chiang Mai Zoo

Things to Do in Chiangmai Zoo Family Activities

Chiangmai Zoo Chiangmai Northern Thailand

We went to Chiangmai Zoo after our big breakfast in Fern Forest Cafe. I will feature this forest cafe in my next post. The timeline isn’t really important as usually I don’t want to post two similar topics after the other. So here you go! as I said we enjoyed our BIG breakfast before we came, I’m not sure how is the food in zoo so would better to have your breakfast or lunch first before you came. If you have ever been to Singapore zoo, please don’t expect it will be something similar. There lots of slope and not an easy walk from one spot to another. However you can choose to rent a Golf cart, it cost 350 Baht/H and the next hour is 300 Baht/H. You also need to buy tickets if you wish to go to the panda dome as well! It cost 100  Baht. So every show needs money!

Take a map at the ticket booth, the map will show you the quickest route from one spot to another. There are also locker, wheel chair  provided. The zoo opens from 08:00 -17:00, so don’t go there too late as there so much to see and of course more to walk!

Anyways, let’s get more in depth to the zoo. First we took a dok dok from the cafe to the zoo, it cost around 200 bhat for 2 person, so it’s not too expensive. You can buy the tickets at the ticket booth in the entrance and it cost 150 Bhat (adult) if you choose without visiting the aquarium. If you do want to go for both, then there’s a package, I don’t remember the exact amount but cost around 500 bhat up, and believe should be more. As we have been the Singapore zoo not so long time ago, so we decide just to visit the animals. The weather is not really good on that day, it’s cloudy and almost have a heavy rain! I can see the very dark clouds just above us! So we almost need to move so quickly without seeing any show as I need to take pictures at the outdoor before it starts to rain.

BEST Breakfast SPOT in Chiangmai – Breakfast World Review

Best Breakfast Spot in Chiangmai Northern Thailand

trazy.com

I have planned to go to this place well ahead the trip. It’s one of my MUST GO place. As they not only offers breakfast but over 50 different style of breakfast. You can find German breakfast, English breakfast, French breakfast etc. All were freshly made and the presentation was really nice!

The location is a bit hidden and we have almost miss the entrance as it is not really named The Breakfast Word but German Beer Garden!!! So it’s totally different. Something you need to aware when you pass by the German Beer Garden. However they do have a white banner on white and written the Breakfast World in both English and Chinese. I am quite surprised when I saw the chinese as thought it shall be one of the famous tourist place for tour but actually it was not. We went there by Dok Dok from hotel and it just cost us 150 baht, I guess 150 Baht is just a normal price and think every Dok Dok driver will offer the same price. Anyways glad we have GPS and it located the exact place where we for sure that’s where we need to go.
The interior is a bit country side look & feel. The table cloth made me feels like I was in my grandma’s house waiting for the delicious breakfast that she is preparing for us.

Since my hotel was quite close to Central Embassy, it just took me 5 mins from my hotel to the mall. Me and my husband have no plan to go to  Paul Bakery but only went in because of their simply but attractive exterior.

Paul Depuis 1889 was the first french bakery in Bangkok. They were founded over a century ago in Croix, Northern France. It served country-style and fancy artisan breads and well known for producing over 140 types of breads. They have opened over 400 branches over the world. There are 4 branches except Embassy in Bangkok, The Emporium, Central World and Empire Tower . If you are looking for an affordable but quality french breakfast with a convenient location,Paul Depuis 1889 shall be one of your choice.

The take away counter had a wide variety of delicious looking cake and pastries. I haven’t got a chance to try their croissant however it seems like they have many good reviews. The price is not cheap but is affordable. Not only Croissant they offer but also freshly made fruit tarts and cakes everyday. I would highly recommend to try this if you haven’t. They just looks so delicious to me!

New Hippest Spot in Bangkok The Commons Backyard Thonglor

I went to Bangkok last month and visited the new hippest space with artistic café, market and playground – The Commons. A place where you can get closer to the nature but not too far from the city. They also call it as the backyard of Thonglor. Located in Soi Thonglor 17. The earliest opening is 08:00 a.m however not all café / restaurant were fully open that early, so I would highly suggest not to go to early unless you want to have an early breakfast.

ODD NUT ONE Hidden Chill Spot - Art Gallery and Cafe in HONG KONG Travel

When I started my blog, I was aim to share some amazing place or restaurant etc. from places that I visited out of my country. I wasn’t aware that I am also living in a beautiful place – HONG KONG. A little city with over 7 million people. (believe the no. shall be more than that!)

HONG KONG is a super busy place and things goes really fast. No one would have time to stop by and explore the beautiful things surrounds them. You can’t change the world but your mind could. It is such a pity to miss the beautiful things just next to you. I went to STAR STREET – Wan Chai  alone with my camera on Saturday. I will post more photos and information about STAR STREET later. This is one of the hidden place in Hong Kong which I would like introduce and share to people from other countries. You might not find this place in your travel book or tourist guide. But this is a great place to experience the silent side of HONG KONG.
First I went to Elephant ground for lunch and took a few pictures of the restaurant from star street. Not many of the stores has opened, so I went to the nearest gallery called ODD ONE OUT, they are having an exhibition until 31st JULY.
